Main duties:

1. Implement laws, regulations and policies on culture, cultural relics, radio, television, tourism and sports; formulate relevant development plans and measures and organize their implementation.

2. Manage the culture, sports, radio, television, cultural relics and tourism industries; coordinate, guide and advance the development of the cultural, tourism and sports industries; be responsible for the construction of the public cultural and sports service systems; make plans for, build and manage district public cultural and sports venues and facilities; guide the subdistricts’ work in culture and sports.

3. Supervise the culture, radio, television, tourism and sports markets; guide and coordinate relevant industry associations.

4. Manage and protect cultural relics and intangible cultural heritage; guide the subdistricts in managing and protecting cultural relics.

5. Guide and coordinate the creation of cultural and artistic works; undertake major cultural and sports events; plan, organize and guide social cultural and sports activities and competitions; be responsible for advancing the national fitness program; organize, guide and supervise sports competitions; conduct various sports training activities.

6. Be responsible for foreign exchanges and cooperation in culture, radio, television, tourism and sports undertakings.

7. Be responsible for administrative law enforcement in the culture, radio, television, film, news, publication, tourism and sports markets; implement administrative punishments for behaviors that damage cultural relics.

8. Plan, guide and supervise the construction of talent teams in the fields of culture, radio, television, tourism and sports.

9. Complete other tasks assigned by the CPC Guangming District Committee, the District Government and other governing departments.
