The "Colorful Intangible Cultural Heritage · Impression of Guangming" event kicked off at Mingyue Square in Minghu Park on April 30.
This six-day affair, themed "Five Major Sections, Two Special Features," promised a diverse cultural extravaganza blending food, performances, camping, cultural heritage exhibitions, traditional handcraft skill experiences, and interactive activities for attendees to win prizes.
The opening ceremony featured a blend of Song Dynasty tea serving and poetry recitation, with enthusiasts dressed in Hanfu showcasing various ancient arts like guqin playing and calligraphy.
The Yulv Lion Dance troupe mesmerized the audience with their performance, offering a glimpse into Guangming's intangible heritage and folk culture. Traditional acts like Cantonese Opera, Peking Opera, dances, folk songs, and Sichuan Opera face-changing followed, attracting many onlookers to pause, enjoy, capture moments, and savor the experience.
The event was structured around five core segments: "Colorful Guangming — Performing Arts Feast," "Appreciating Guangming — Painting Exhibition," "Tasting Guangming — Gourmet Market," "Charming Guangming — Cultural and Creative Market," and "Delightful Guangming — Skill Experience."
Two special activities, "Wild Charm of Guangming — Camping" and "Lively Life of Guangming — Parent-Child Experience," added an extra flair. The art exhibition themed around "Impression of Guangming" showcased around 60 embossed paintings celebrating the region's intangible heritage, aiming to boost its industry, provide a platform for heritage enthusiasts, enhance residents' cultural experiences, and foster a deeper connection with intangible heritage for all attendees.
