In a move to foster a culture of sports and wellness, Guangming District recently launched a sports map.
The map showcases tailored sports routes that cater to diverse interests, including cycling, hiking, rock climbing, skateboarding, and water sports. The routes link vital ecological paths, contributing to a scenic environment for outdoor activities.
The running routes incorporate key parks and natural features, such as Hudi Mountain Park and Maozhou River Greenway, showcasing spaces for both casual joggers and seasoned athletes to enjoy the region's vibrant scenery.
Route highlights:
A 20-km route on the map links Hongqiao Park, Dadingling Greenway, Guangming Lake, and Guangming Fun Farm, allowing runners to experience the district's unique blend of nature and city life.
A 10-km route offers runners an opportunity to enjoy popular check-in sites along the Maozhou River and nearby urban parks, perfect for those with moderate running experience.
Meanwhile, a 5-km route, ideal for beginners, is designed around community parks, enabling residents to engage in jogs with ease. Other notable routes include a scenic 6-km run through Hongqiao Park and a 6.7-km waterside journey along Maozhou River.
Hongqiao Park
The map showcases 14 types of sports activities—ranging from hiking to water sports—across various terrains, emphasizing the rich landmarks in Guangming, such as Hongqiao Park and the scenic views of Apoji Mountain. Notable landmarks marked on the map include a youth soccer training base, a cycling base, the Guangming Grand View Garden horseback riding field, and community sports centers.
