Guangming District, known for its picturesque landscapes and vibrant cultural attractions, has experienced a remarkable surge in tourism this summer, according to a Bao'an Daily report.
From July to August this year, the district welcomed a total of 1.52 million visitors to its key scenic spots, marking a 6.16% increase from the previous year.
This influx of tourists contributed to a significant boost in direct revenue, totaling 813 million yuan, showing a substantial 23.74% growth compared with the same period last year.
Among the popular destinations attracting visitors was the Guangming Farm Grand View Garden, where residents and tourists immersed themselves in the enchanting themed settings. The district also witnessed a thriving hospitality sector, with accommodation businesses generating approximately 42.12 million yuan in turnover, an 8.4% increase, and catering establishments raking in around 109 million yuan, marking an 11.08% growth.
To enhance the tourism experience, Guangming also introduced four themed study tour routes centered on ecological agriculture, scientific culture, industrial experiences, and educational tours.
Over 20 engaging "Study in Guangming" activities were organized, drawing in more than 15,000 participants. Additionally, the district hosted the Guangming Farm Light Festival, a spectacular event featuring captivating performances, unique displays, and cultural showcases that captivated nearly 100,000 attendees, showcasing a significant 45.85% rise in attendance from the previous year.
Numerous cultural and artistic performances also took place at various venues in Guangming, with over 40 shows staged during the summer. Sporting events such as the China Skateboarding Open and Guangming Warriors Series further added to the excitement, providing thrilling experiences for spectators.
The district's business districts came alive with festivities, including themed events like the Urban Coffee Festival and the Midsummer Ice World celebration, attracting over 10 million visitors. Notable attractions such as the Old Sugar Factory Cultural and Creative Park and Huaqiang Creative Park saw crowds gathering to watch international sporting events together.
The number of overnight visitors surged to 524,100, representing a remarkable 38.25% increase compared to the previous year.
