In a recent announcement by the Guangdong Landscape Society, three outstanding projects from Guangming District won the prestigious 2024 Guangdong Landscape Society Science and Technology Awards.
The accolades were presented to exemplary initiatives that have significantly contributed to the advancement of landscape and garden engineering technology as well as design in the region.
Among the recipients, Baihuayuan Park emerged as the winner of the first prize in the landscape and garden engineering technology category. Situated in the southern part of Guangming District, Baihuayuan, formerly known as Qilin Mountain Park, stands as the largest vine flower-viewing municipal park in the area, spanning a planned total area of 249,300 square meters. The park's design focuses on integrating ecological restoration, fitness activities, community leisure, and science education, with special highlights including Qilin Square, Qilin Peak, Qinghe Pond, and various pavilions and gardens to enrich visitors' experiences.
The Metro Line 6 branch's green restoration project and the first phase of the Guangming campus of the Shenzhen Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital both secured the second prize in the landscape and garden planning and design category. The Metro Line 6 branch, stretching 6.13 kilometers with three stations and four intervals, showcases a green restoration design inspired by the local landscapes and cultural elements of Guangming District. Similarly, the Guangming campus of the Shenzhen Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital combines traditional Chinese medicine culture with Suzhou classical garden aesthetics to create a serene healing environment that embodies the charm of Jiangnan gardens.
