Guangming District witnessed a surge in consumer activity during the National Day holiday, setting a vibrant commercial tone for the district, Bao'an Daily reported.
Popular shopping hubs reported a marked increase in footfall, with the total foot traffic in major commercial centers reaching around 1.156 million, marking a 15.8% rise from the same period of last year. Total sales figures in major commercial centers amounted to approximately 79.05 million yuan (US$11.2 million), showcasing an 11.6% year-on-year growth. Noteworthy was the performance at Guangming International Auto City, where close to 1,000 vehicles were sold, generating sales of 212 million yuan.
To cater to the preferences of holiday consumers, Guangming District orchestrated a series of events including trade-in promotions, diverse discounts, and themed activities. These initiatives aimed at revolutionizing marketing strategies, elevating the shopping experience, and augmenting the economic impact of the holiday, stimulating spending zeal among residents and tourists alike.
A standout was the triple car purchase promotion launched by Guangming International Auto City, luring customers with enticing incentives like the Shenzhen "Trade-in" subsidy that offers discounts of up to 96,000 yuan per car. The response was overwhelming, with nearly 1,000 cars sold and sales totaling 212 million yuan, reflecting a substantial 20% increase compared to the previous National Day holiday.
Apart from the automotive sector, bustling activities characterized the major shopping centers of Guangming. The holiday's finale witnessed sustained buzz in these areas, with an exhilarating music festival captivating audiences at the entrance of Blue Whale World. Throughout the week, shopping havens like Blue Whale World and Guangming Wanda Plaza, among others, enticed visitors with discounts, consumer festivals, youth camps, music galas, dance performances, and cultural heritage experiences in line with the National Day theme.
"Over the 7-day National Day holiday, our mall footfall tripled compared to regular days, marking a 35% increase from last year's National Day holiday; sales surged to 2.5 times higher than usual, with a 25% year-on-year growth," shared a manager at Blue Whale World. The success of the themed events, combined with strategic subsidies and promotions, played a pivotal role in driving consumer expenditure, the manger said.
