A helicopter shuttle service was recently inaugurated in Guangming District, significantly cutting down the commute time from Guangming Science City to downtown Shenzhen to under 15 minutes.

The inaugural flight took off from the Lenovo Southern Base helicopter takeoff and landing point, marking a momentous leap forward in advancing low-altitude economic applications in Guangming.

This newly opened helicopter facility is the first public-access elevated helicopter site in Guangming, catering to high-end business travel and facilitating scientific and academic exchanges.

Sources from the Shenzhen Eastern General Aviation Co. Ltd. (Heli-Eastern) highlighted that the introduction of the service has significantly shrunk the distances between Guangming and other urban clusters in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, propelling the low-altitude economy in Guangming towards further growth. Plans are underway to expand helicopter routes to destinations like Xili and Hetao in Shenzhen, as well as Songshan Lake in neighboring Dongguan.

Additional helicopter takeoff and landing points and facilities will also be built in the district, culminating in a well-connected low-altitude travel network anchored by the Science City.

Positioning itself strategically in the low-altitude economic landscape, Guangming District is capitalizing on its unique strengths in infrastructure, innovation hubs, specialized industries, spatial resources, and talent pool to elevate the low-altitude economy to new heights.

Future initiatives will leverage the district's large-scale scientific facilities and specialized industries to drive development models focusing on "Low-altitude + Cultural and Commercial Tourism," "Low-altitude + Research," and "Low-altitude + Medical Services," injecting fresh momentum into regional economic expansion.

Special policies have been crafted and enacted to attract top-tier low-altitude enterprises with core competencies to settle in Guangming.

Already boasting three operational helicopter takeoff and landing points at key locations such as the Seventh Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, Guangming Lenovo Technology Park, and Guangming Golf Club, the district is also seeing strides in unmanned aerial vehicle logistics and immediate delivery services. Noteworthy efforts by Fengyi Technology and Meituan have further enhanced the district's connectivity and efficiency in transportation.

By promoting the utilization of new low-altitude transportation tools like helicopters and eVTOLs for upscale travel, creating unique low-altitude tourism experiences, facilitating efficient medical service deliveries through low-altitude means, and enhancing urban governance using drones, the district is set to redefine the standards of modern low-altitude economic operations.
