The forthcoming Guangming branch of Shenzhen Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Hospital is anticipated to emerge as the largest traditional Chinese medicine hospital in China upon its opening.
Nestled at the junction of Guangqiao Road and Longda Expressway within Guangming District, this expansive campus spans 440,000 square meters, initially earmarked to accommodate 2,000 beds. The first phase is geared towards unveiling 21 clinics catering to emergency and outpatient services.
Equipped with six national key specialties — such as hepatology, nephrology, acupuncture, spleen and stomach disorders, endocrinology, and neurological conditions — the Guangming branch is set to establish multiple specialized centers.
Blending traditional Chinese medicine ethos with architectural design principles, the campus integrates a human-centric underground transportation network, crafted to shorten patient commutes and provide a sheltered healthcare environment regardless of weather conditions.
Straddling the development axis linking Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hong Kong, this branch assumes a pivotal role within the Guangdong-Shenzhen Technology Innovation Corridor and as a core enclave of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Its operations will bolster the evolution of a medical and healthcare hub, elevate the delivery of traditional Chinese medical services, foster innovation in the realm of traditional Chinese medicine, and publicize the "Shenzhen Approach" and "Shenzhen Wisdom" across the traditional Chinese medicine reform landscape, endeavoring to enhance global outreach.
Upon inauguration, the Guangming campus will inaugurate research hubs, spearhead new trajectories, propel the translation of breakthroughs, establish respected institutions, and catalyze traditional Chinese medicine advancement through the "Healthy Shenzhen TCM Promotion Center." It aspires to evolve into a national showcase for traditional Chinese medical care, an epicenter for traditional Chinese medicine culture promotion and education, a training ground for national traditional Chinese medicine practitioners and general practitioners, an examination site for traditional Chinese medicine physician licensing, a traditional Chinese medicine hub for the Greater Bay Area, a premier traditional Chinese medicine research center, and a hotspot for traditional Chinese medicine formulation research and development.
