Foodies who have an appetite for Cantonese roast goose will definitely leave Gongming Subdistrict licking their fingers.
The roast goose has been a signature dish of Gongming Shangcun community since 1933. The birds are hung and roasted over stainless-steel ovens after being seasoned in sauce made from fermented red curds, day lilies, soy sauce, star anise and dates. It has a conspicuous layer of fat between the crispy golden skin and tender flesh, dotted with a smoky fragrance from the oven.
